“Venom” is a hit. A surprising hit – but still, a bonafide cash cow. And you know what that means, right? Yep, sequel.
Sony may have quietly confirmed when we’ll see “Venom, too” or “Venom 2” or “Venom Two” or “V2nom” today. Buried in a piece in Variety today, an item on two “Spider-Man” related movies that have been scheduled for 2020,with one being “Morbius” on July 10 and other being an “untitled Sony-Marvel sequel” coming October 2. With “Spider-Man : Far From Home” hitting in 2019, it’s not that, and with no plans for a J.Jonah Jameson origin pic (as far as we know), it’s almost a given that the film is a “Venom” follow-up. Considering how well the Tom Hardy-led movie has done, Sony will want to get it going sooner rather than later, and by all accounts, it’d be around 2020 when it’s ready.
