The Tick returns – but they’ve had to recast the title role!

As first rumoured back in 2014, Amazon Studios are resurrecting cult classic laffer “The Tick”.

Sadly, Patrick Warburton – due to other commitments – won’t be donning the blue antenna again though.

Per Deadline, the ‘reboot’ will star Griffin Newman as Arthur Everest, the character Warburton played in the short-lived 1994 series, with Valorie Curry playing sister Dot.

Warburton is involved, but only in an executive producer capacity alongside Ben Edlund and Barry Josephson. Edlund is also returning to write the new incarnation.

Wally Pfister (“Transcendence”) will direct the pilot episode for the new Amazon Studios take.
