Three in the mix for new Snake Plissken!

Charlie Hunnam, Jon Bernthal, and Dan Stevens are up for the role of eye-patched Snake Plissken in the long-gestating remake of ’80s fave “Escape from New York”.

Starlog suggests the redo – in the works for several years now – is inching forward, with the casting couch acquainted with the likes of “Son of Anarchy” star Hunnam, “Walking Dead” star Bernthal, and “Downton Abbey” star Stevens in the mix to play the role made famous by Kurt Russell.

While Plissken will still be the lead in the new film, he’ll be surrounded by a capable team of helpers.

“Plissken’s team consists of Mina, a warzone journalist framed for murder and living in the shadows of New York as a scavenger; Cabbie, a schizophrenic travel guide who serves as comic relief; Gareth, the last surviving member of the President’s security detail who harbors a dangerous secret; and The Brain, Plissken’s former partner-in-crime who left him to die after a botched robbery.”

“Escape from New York” will hail from Silver Pictures and StudioCanal.
