Before it’s even in the can, a sequel to the remake of “Kickboxer” is inching towards the ring.

“Kickboxer : Retaliation” will follow the events of this year’s “Kickboxer : Vengeance”, due for release later this year.
The cast of the first, including Alain Moussi and Jean-Claude Van Damme will be back, with “Game of Thrones” alum Hafthor Julius Bjornsson (‘The Mountain’!) newly announced as the villain.
Producer Rob Hickman said (via Coming Soon) : “The response we have garnered for the first film, before its release, has been staggering, and we are excited to continue the franchise with the Mountain himself added to the cast.”
Dimitri Logothetis, a producer and co-writer on “Vengeance”, is helming the sequel with lensing due to kick off in Thailand in May.
