Trainspotting team to write, direct next 007!

Danny Boyle has confirmed reports that he’s attached to direct the next 007 film.

The “Steve Jobs” director is currently working with “Trainspotting” writer John Hodge on the script, and hopes to have the film before the cameras at the end of the year.

Boyle made the admission to Metro on Wednesday, confirming rampant rumours that the Broccoli’s had appointed the filmmaker the captain of the next Bond boating.

“We are working on a script right now. And it all depends on that really. I am working on a Richard Curtis script at the moment. We hope to start shooting that in 6 or 7 weeks. Then Bond would be right at the end of the year. But we are working on them both right now.”

The film – Bond 25! – would be based on an idea by Boyle and Hodge. The duo previously worked on “Shallow Grave,” “Trainspotting,” “A Life Less Ordinary,” “The Beach,” “Trance” and “T2 Trainspotting” together.

“We’ve got an idea, John Hodge, the screenwriter, and I have got this idea, and John is writing it at the moment. And it all depends on how it turns out. It would be foolish of me to give any of it away.”

Considering the movie will serve as Daniel Craig’s 007 send-off, hopefully Boyle and Hodges have a killer idea so his time at the MI6 can end of a high note.
