Comedy-vet David Dobkin (“The Change-Up”, “Wedding Crashers”) will helm a biopic on Playboy founder Hugh Hefner for Warner Bros, says Deadline.
The Peter Morgan (“Frost/Nixon”) scripted film, which was originally set up at Universal via Imagine Entertainment, is being produced by Jerry Weintraub (“Ocean’s Eleven”) and WB’s Lynn Harris.
Robert Downey Jr, who recently worked with Dobkin on “The Judge”, was once being eyebrowed to play Hefner. Wonder if that’s still the case?
