Guess this is why Sony didn’t consider Dan Ayrkoyd enough a heavyweight to headline it.
Sony’s “Ghostbusters” reboot will cost the studio 154 million dollars- and studio chief Tom Rothman has signed off on the figure. Director Paul Feig originally requested a sumly $169 million for his effects-heavy comedy (and old boss Amy Pascal was OK with that), but Rothman got him down a few dollars – at the expense of the script, apparently. THR says a couple of compromises have had to be made in the libretto to whittle down the budget a bit – one less demon dog, maybe? an Aykoyd cameo?
