Meet the new xXx 4 recruits

A third sequel to “xXx” is in the works with Vin Diesel’s One Race Films seemingly deep into the casting process.

According to Variety, the actor and producer has recruited “Green Hornet” star Jay Chou and actress Zoe Zhang for the upcoming fourth instalment, which will be directed by D.J Caruso.

Chou, known as the ‘King of Mandopop’, is best known film-wise for playing Seth Rogen’s sidekick in “The Green Hornet” movie from a couple of years back and for his role in “Now You See Me 2”.
“This is an incredibly exciting film, which I’m beyond happy to join,” Chou said in a statement.

Zhang, a regular in Jackie Chan films, has appeared in “Chinese Zodiac” and the recent “Skiptrace”, to name but a couple of her credits.

Deepika Padukone, who played Serena Unger in the previous instalment, and TV regular Roy Wang are also onboard.

“xXx 4” is being produced and bankrolled by The H Collective, with backing from investment partners including Jackie Chan’s Sparkle Roll Media, iQiyi Pictures, Dadi Huarui, Star League Media and Fulcrum Management Co.

The last “xXx” film, “xXx: The Return of Xander Cage” earned nearly half of it’s return at the Chinese box office last year so no surprise that they’d go to China for the coin on this one.
“We are very excited to be working on the fourth installment of xXx, which has always been such a fun, action-packed, global franchise,” said The H Collective CEO Nic Crawley. “We are looking to build a well-rounded international cast and introduce bold new characters that are sure to have longevity in the continued franchise.”

“xXx 4” begins filming early 2019.
