Oscar Winner Anthony Hopkins will star in “Cus And Mike”, the story of Mike Tyson’s legendary trainer Cus D’Amato and how he moulded the fighter into becoming the youngest heavyweight title winner ever and one of the most ferocious boxers of his generation. Hulu, meanwhile, has premiered a trailer for “Little Fire’s Everywhere”, the new 8-episode drama starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington. This one hits March 18.

William Brent Bell (“Brahms”) is set to helm a prequel to Warner Bros.’/Dark Castle’s 2009 genre pic ”Orphan” for eOne. “Esther”, being repped at EFM, tells the backstory of the character Lena Klammer aka Esther. In the film, Lena orchestrates a brilliant escape from a Russian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. “Spider-Man” alum J.K Simmons is set to star in Mark Palansky’s dark comedy/heist thriller ”My Only Sunshine”. The pic, from Circle of Confusion and Patriot Pictures, has John Cusack eyed for the other lead. Written by J.T. Petty and K. Reed Petty, Cusack plays one half of a passionately dysfunctional couple, who orchestrate a bank robbery as an unconventional act of bloodthirsty marriage counseling. Trying to make peace with the shocking mystery of their relationship throughout a violent hostage situation, is a cop hostage negotiator (Simmons), who previously investigated a past related murder.[More…]

“Newsroom” alum Dev Patel is set to star in ”Flash Crash”, a dramatic thriller based on an upcoming book by Liam Vaughan that See-Saw Films and New Regency have teamed on to adapt.Jonathan Perera is attached to write the screenplay, the story of Navinder Singh Sarao, described as a brilliant outsider and a man who found a way to beat the stock market, making millions working from a bedroom in his parents’ small suburban home on the outskirts of London. When his focus on outsmarting the corporations coincided with a $1 trillion market drop, he found himself in the crosshairs of a group of U.S. government agents.
