Eddie Murphy will step into the police headquarters last staffed by his Bowfinger co-star Steve Martin when he plays Inspector Clouseau in a new take on Pink Panther for MGM.

Murphy, who is said to be a big fan of the late Peter Sellers, most famous for playing Clouseau, most recently starred opposite Jonah Hill, Julia-Louis Dreyfus in Kenya Barris’ feature directorial debut, You People.
