Colin Farrell (“Saving Mr. Banks”) has confirmed that he’s onboard Season 2 of HBO’s “True Detective”. Farrell, remarking that he’s “so excited” to be doing the acclaimed series, says the show will be shot in and around Los Angeles. (Sunday World)

Peter Dinklage (“Game of Thrones”) will star in “The Thicket”, based on Joe Lansdale’s crime thriller for Hollywood Gang. “He plays Shorty, a crafty bounty hunter enlisted to find a woman who has been kidnapped by a violent killer at the turn of the 20th century. He and his fellow trackers venture into the deadly no-man’s land known as the Big Thicket, a place where blood and chaos reign.” (Deadline)

Stephen Fry (“24 : Live Another Day”) has joined the cast of “Tomorrow”. Produced by Martin Scorsese, the Martha Pinson-directed movie tells of the problems soldiers face once they return home from battle. Paul Kaye, Joss Stone, Stephanie Leonidas and Sophie Kennedy-Clark are also onboard. (Screen Daily)

The untitled Celebrity Death Pool comedy that Darren Grant is putting together has added Jim Jefferies, Rhys Darby, Jon Lovitz, Flula Borg, Dan Bakkedahl and Colton Dunn to it’s cast. The pic “centers on a struggling nightclub owner who, after amassing a large debt from a loan shark, sets out to win his long-running celebrity death pool by attempting to kill his chosen celebrity, David Hasselhoff.” (Deadline)

Shea Whigham (“Boardwalk Empire”) will co-star on “Marvel’s Agent Carter”. The actor is playing the male lead on the show, tough but fair-minded SSR Chief Roger Dooley. (Deadline)

Aussie Jacki Weaver (“Animal Kingdom”) will star opposite Patrick Stewart on the live-action comedy series “Blunt Talk”. From Seth MacFarlane and ”Bored To Death” creator Jonathan Ames, the live-action series – set to air on Starz – is a comedy ”revolving around Walter Blunt (Stewart), an infrequently sober but legendary British import intent on conquering the world of American cable news. scarboroughThe series follows the fallout from Blunt’s well-intentioned but mostly misguided decision-making, both on and off the air. Weaver will play Blunt’s straight-talking, tough and motherthy producer-manager Rosalie Winter, who looks after Walter’s career and helps shape the Blunt Talk newscast.
