ABC Renewals and Cancelations

ABC has axed five underperforming comedies and has ordered four new comedies and five new dramas for the 2014-15 season.

The exiting shows are “Mixology”, “The Neighbours”, “Trophy Wife”, “Suburgatory” and “Super Fun Night” while comedies “Blackish,” “Galavant,” “Manhattan Love Story” and “Selfie” will be introduced. New dramas “How to Get Away with Murder,” “American Crime,” “The Whispers,” “Marvel’s Agent Carter” and “Forever” will also join the ABC slate.

The network has also renewed hit shows “Revenge”, which is gearing up for its fourth season, along with “The Goldbergs” and “Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD”.

So, what’s in store for the new ABC line up? A quick overview below…

Anthony Anderson stars in ABC Studio’s “Blackish”, a comedy about an upper-middle-class man trying to introduce his kids to their African-American heritage, despite the obstacles thrown in his way by other family members.

“Galavant” comes from “Neighbours” creator Dan Fogelman and sees Prince Galavant embark on a quest seeking revenge on the king who stole his true love in this musical comedy.

Rom-com “Manhattan Love Story” looks at the differences between men and women, following a young couple that’s just started dating.

Warner Bros. TV’s comedy “Selfie” sees Karen Gillan play a once dorky teenager, now beautiful young woman who enlists the help of a marketing guru to try and change her self-obsessed ways.

Drama “How to Get Away with Murder” centres on a law professor (Viola Davis) who finds herself caught up in a murder mystery with four students.

Felicity Huffman and Timothy Hutton star in drama “American Crime” which centres on a couple who are attacked in their home, leading to racial tensions that threaten to end the relationship.

“The Whispers” is a drama from Amblin TV and scribe Soo Hugh which follows an alien invasion in which the aliens use the world’s children to attempt to achieve global domination.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” comes from the world of Captain America and stars Hayley Atwell as operative Peggy Carter, Steve Rogers’ girlfriend who is trying to build her career as a secret agent.

“Forever” is a drama coming from Warner Bros. TV which centres on an immortal New York City medical examiner.
