After he’s done battle with Titans, Ramirez may Clash with Superman!

With Viggo Mortensen no longer in contention to play Superman’s nemesis (General Zod?), all attention has of course turned to talk of a surrogate scoundrel.
Latino Review hears that Edgar Ramirez, of “Domino” and “Vantage Point” (shit, I hate that film!) , is being eyed to play a villain in director Zack Snyder’s “Man of Steel”.
Says El Mayimbe, “Now at press time, I don’t know if it’s for General Zod or another villain role. The secrecy surrounding this project is that tight. I also don’t personally know if Edgar auditioned, or his name is simply being tossed around, or the producers have gotten into it with Edgar’s reps.
I feel though that Edgar being in Superman is within the realm of possibility because after all, he is already working for Warner Brothers and playing Ares, Zeus’ godly son and one of the bad guys in WRATH OF THE TITANS, the CLASH OF THE TITANS sequel which started production this week. Edgar also played the baddie in the last Jason Bourne film.
So for lack of a better word, consider this a “rumor” for the time being.”

A great actor, but is Ramirez the name a role like ‘Zod’ calls for? No, I wouldn’t think so, at the same time, and as mentioned above, Ramirez could be up for any of the villain roles in the film – heck, a broke immigrant that flogs a couple of tied-up mounds of Daily Planet newspapers could be being cast here for all we know!?

Who do you think would make a good General Zod?
