Amanda Waller part cast in Suicide Squad

Viola Davis (“The Help”) will play Amanda Waller in Warner’s “Suicide Squad” movie, according to Latino Review.

Though Oprah Winfrey and Octavia Spencer had been previously mentioned for the role of the DC Comics villain and Prison Warden, director David Ayer’s going with the “How to Get Away with Murder” star (thinking Winfrey probably passed on the role – doesn’t seem her bag).

Waller is a former congressional aid and government agent overseeing the newly-formed Suicide Squad – consisting of Jared Leto’s Joker, Will Smith’s Deadshot, Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, Tom Hardy’s Rick Flag, Jai Courtney’s Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne’s Enchantress.

Angela Bassett played the same part in the ill-fated “Green Lantern” movie.
