Anne Hathaway Joins Hugh Jackman in Les Miserables

Wow, it’s finally official! It’s no secret that Hugh Jackman can sing, and sing well at that. Hugh’s been wanting to make a big screen adaptation of “Les Miserables” for quite some time now and last we heard casting wise, was that Russell Crowe was attached to the film. Well, if you watched the 2009 Oscars, you saw both Hugh Jackman and Anne Hathaway sing their little hearts out so it was only a matter of time before they both starred in a musical together.

Deadline now confirms it though– Anne Hathaway has joined Hugh Jackman and Crowe in the big screen musical version of “Les Miserables”. Hathaway will play Fantine, while Crowe will play Inspector Javert and Jackman is Jean Valjean.

Set to be directed by “The King’s Speech” director Tom Hooper, the film has a release date of December 7, 2012.

Hathaway, as we all know, is currently filming “The Dark Knight Rises” as Selina Kyle/Catwoman.
