Butler, Rush join Proyas’s Gods of Egypt

Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush are in discussions to star in Summit’s “Gods of Egypt”, the Alex Proyas (“The Crow”) directed film that ”Game Of Thrones”’ Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is already onboard.

Burk Sharpless & Matt Sazama-written pic would feature Butler as ”Set, a god of the desert, storms, and foreigners in ancient Egyptian religion. In Egyptian mythology, he killed and mutilated his own brother Osiris. Horus, the son of Osiris, sought revenge against Set for the killing of his father. Coster-Waldau will play Horus. ”

Rush will play ”the sun god Ra, the father of Set and Osiris who is also Set’s ultimate target.”
