Casting: The Aftermath, American Assassin, Meg, The Flash, Arrow, Masters of Sex, The Trap

Jason Clarke is in talks to join Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgard in “The Aftermath”, while Fox Searchlight is reportedly in negotiations to land the project with James Kent directing.

“Based on the Rhidian Brook novel, the story is set in post-war Germany in 1946 where a woman, Rachael, arrives with her only remaining son in the ruins of Hamburg. There she is reunited with her husband, a British colonel named Lewis, who is charged with rebuilding the shattered city. But as they set off for their new home, Rachael is stunned to discover that they will be sharing the house with its previous owners, a German widower and his troubled daughter” (via Variety).

 

 

Taylor Kitsch is joining Dylan O’Brien and Michael Keaton in “American Assassin”, an adaptation of Vince Flynn’s bestseller.

Michael Cuesta is directcing the thriller from a screenplay by Stephen Schiff.

“American Assassin” follows CIA black ops recruit Mitch Rapp (O’Brien) and Cold War veteran Stan Hurley (Keaton) as they’re enlisted by CIA Deputy Director Irene Kennedy to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. Kitsch will play a mysterious operative intent on starting a World War in the Middle East.

 

 

Rainn Wilson will join Jason Statham and Fan Bingbing in shark movie “Meg”.

According to Deadline, Wilson will play Jack Morris, a tech billionaire who funds an underwater observation program that unwittingly unleashes the Carcharodon megalodon – a 70-foot, 40-ton prehistoric cousin of the great white.

Jon Turtletaub is directing the film which is slated for release on March 2, 2018.

 

 

Ashley Rickards has been cast as The Top for the upcoming third season of “The Flash”, reports E!

The Top was a male character in the comics but Rickards has been cast in the role as Rosalind “Rosa” Dillon, aka The Top, the the fourth ep of “The Flash’s” third season.

“The Flash” returns to TV on October 4 at 8PM.

 

 

“Jessica Jones” actor Wil Traval will play DC hero Human Target (aka Christopher Chance) on The CW’s “Arrow”, reports KSiteTV.

He will appear in the fifth episode of the upcoming fifth season. Season 5 premieres on October 5 at 8PM.

 

 

Camryn Manheim will appear on the fourth season of “Masters of Sex”.

Manheim will play Jade, a new-age guru who runs a partnering seminar for singles.

Set in the “swinging 70s”, “Masters of Sex” Season 4 premieres on September 11 at 10PM.

 

 

Mike Epps and Tip “T.I.” Harris are starring as brothers in “The Trap”.

Based on a story by Epps and Nile Evans, who is writing the script, “The Trap” follows Harris’ character returning home to Atlanta to help save the dilapidated restaurant run by his brother (Epps) and mother. A change in the chicken recipe revives the location.

Chris Robinson is directing.

Producers are Queen Latifah and Shakim Compere of Flavor Unit Entertainment, Epps and Niles Kirchner of Naptown Productions, and Harris and Brian Sher of Grand Hustle Films. Robinson is also producing and Jesse Collins will executive produce.
