While most of us wait excitedly for Don Mancini’s ‘Chucky’ TV series, the Earth2 version of the “Child’s Play” franchise pushes forward – today, announcing a release date and revealing a new poster.
Orion Pictures (yep, they’re back!) have skedded the Lars Klevberg directed remake for a June 21, 2019 release – yeah, that’s right, the same weekend “Toy Story 4” opens. Whatever way you slice it, that weekend belongs to the dolls.
The new “Child’s Play” sees a ‘Buddi’ doll – as opposed to a ‘Good Guy’ doll – terrorizing a mother (Aubrey Plaza) and her son (Gabriel Bateman) in what will assumingly be no more, no less than a straight-up remake of Tom Holland’s legendary original movie.
