Chris Evans Replaces James Franco in The Iceman

Back in mid-October, we reported that James Franco had to exit “The Iceman” film due to financial reasons but now, Deadline reports that Franco has been replaced by “Avengers” and “Captain America” star Chris Evans.

Evans will join a cast that includes Michael Shannon, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Ray Liotta and David Schwimmer. Set to be released sometime in 2013, the film is based on the Anthony Bruno novel The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer. Ariel Vromen will direct the film while Vromen co-wrote the film along with Morgan Land.

The film is based on real life hitman Richard Kuklinski named the iceman with Evans now playing his mentor, Robert Pronge.

You guys like the new casting change or would you have preferred James Franco in the lead?
