The CW no loger developing Friday the 13th & Little Women series

The CW is axing plans to reboot two classic titles as television shows.

At their TCA presentation, the networked announced it is not moving forward with the previously announced “Friday the 13th” and “Little Women” series.

“We had better pilots,” said CW president Mark Pedowitz of the network’s “Friday the 13th” project (via EW). “The bottom line is we felt we had stronger things to go with, and we didn’t go forward with it. It was well-written, it was darker than we wanted it to be, and we didn’t believe it had sustainability … We didn’t believe that it was a sustainable script, a sustainable series. It was a very good pilot, but not a sustainable series.”

Meanwhile, the network’s “Little Women” series – which was a script adapted from Louisa May Alcott’s 1868 novel – “just did not get there”, said Pedowitz.

“The script just couldn’t get there… We didn’t go forward and develop it again.”
