Last weekend rumours hit that Channing Tatum had departed “Gambit”. Reports said the “Magic Mike” actor had exited Marvel’s “X-Men” spin-off to play a different role in the DC Films Universe.
Latino Review touched base with a top source who confirmed that Tatum is still very much attached to play the title role in “Gambit”. That’s not to say Tatum won’t do something in the DC Films Universe too (because “Gambit” is with Fox, and not Marvel Studios, he’s apparently allowed to jump between Marvel and DC if he wants to!) but he’s still committed to playing the Southern superhero.
“Gambit” was originally due to open in October of this year but hasn’t even started filming yet. No new release date has been announced.
