Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told told Critics Choice Association journalist Erick Weber on Thursday – during a special screening of “Black Panther” – that the third “Guardians of the Galaxy” film is on hold. His comments follow the axing of director James Gunn from the project, after his controversial tweets resurfaced earlier in the year.
OK, here we go, 3 quick questions, answers direct from Kevin Feige’s mouth
1) AVENGERS 4 trailer “before the end of the year”
2) Namor COULD make an appearance, still deciding IF & when
3) GUARDIANS 3 status “on hold”— ???? (@ErickWeber) October 26, 2018
Though the studio are said to be still using Gunn’s script for the film, a new director will helm the project.
Meanwhile, at the same screening, Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy said that the long-rumoured “Star Wars” spin-off film focusing on popular side character Boba Fett is no longer on the cards.
Kathleen Kennedy just confirmed to me Boba Fett movie is 100% dead, 100% focusing on THE MANDALORIAN #StarWars

The film, which James Mangold was attached to write and direct, has purportedly been shelved in the wake of disappointing takings on the last “Star Wars” standalone film, “Solo”.
