Ford had fire in his eyes doing Force Awakens

If you thought Harrison Ford looked and sounded more enthusiastic in that brief moment in the “Force Awakens” trailer (where he alerts Chewie to the fact they’re ‘home’) than he has in his less ten movies, you’re not alone. Director JJ Abrams, talking to Vanity Fair for their feature on the upcoming “Star Wars” sequel, says the legendary actor seemed to really enjoy reprising Han Solo again.

“[He] was excited to get back in those shoes again, which was really interesting because I thought he hadn’t been a fan. I kept hearing those rumors when I was a kid. I knew that he had done in some movies a kind of more growly thing, and I didn’t want Han to be growly. There was a fire in his eyes that you see in the movie.”

More from Vanity Fair’s “Star Wars : The Force Awakens” feature in the issue that drops May 7.
