Finn Jones has landed the role of the titular Iron Fist (aka Daniel Rand) in Marvel and Netflix’s upcoming new show.
Rand is described as “a handsome, sophisticated loner” who returns to New York City after having spent several years missing.
In the comics, at the age of 9, Daniel Rand travels with his family from New York to a lost mystical city called K’un-L’un. There, Rand is adopted by the city’s ruler and taught advanced martial arts and the mystical power of the Iron Fist.
Scott Buck (“Dexter”) will serve as show runner of the series which is expected to premiere next year.
Following “Daredevil”, “Jessica Jones” and the forthcoming “Luke Cage”, “Iron Fist” will be the fourth Marvel and Netflix collaboration. Marvel plans to eventually unite all its heroes in a series called The Defenders.
The rumour was sparked by The Hashtag Show with EW backing it up as fact.
