Ghostbusters returning to a cinema near you!

No doubt stemming from the success of the re-released “Lion King” this past weekend (or can it truly be to gauge interest in a “Ghostbusters 3”?), Sony has decided to re-issue “Ghostbusters” theatrically.

The film will screen in the states for three nights in October. And for those in Australia, it will be screening at The Astor Theatre in Melbourne on various nights from October to December (you can find details of it’s St Kilda return here).

Who can forget their first time seeing “Ghostbusters” on the big screen? I sure don’t. The theme song had everyone singing-along and clapping and the librarian ghost had many-a-younger fan jumping into the seat in front of them it spooked them so awfully. Mostly, I just remember it being a great time – silly, spooky and sensationally performed (everyone, right down to supporting players Annie Potts, Rick Moranis, William Atherton and the gorgeous Jennifer Runyon were marvellous).

I look forward to seeing it on the big screen again!, don’t you?
