Horror news : The Conjuring 3, IT: Chapter 2, Candyman remake

“The Nun” is currently scaring us on big screens, and we also know that a third “Annabelle” film is in development for a 2019 release. Word from producer Peter Safran is that the development of “The Conjuring 3” is also coming along nicely, with production looking likely for 2019. According to Safran, David Leslie Johnson is currently working on the screenplay. So it could be likely we see a release in 2020. A director for the film is yet to be named.

Details surrounding “IT: Chapter 2” have been slowly emerging, with production happening as we speak. Recently Jessica Chastain (playing adult Beverly Marsh) wrapped up filming, and the production team have been speaking about what to expect in the highly anticipated follow up to last year’s success. Stephen King’s 1,100 page novel has a lot of material, hence the 2 films, and screenwriter Gary Dauberman has noted that the sequel will include the weirdest scene from the book: the Ritual of Chud. If you haven’t read the book, it’s a really difficult scene to explain – as quite frankly it’s strange (putting it lightly). Strangeness aside, director Andy Muscietti has promised a terrifying sequel.

Jordan Peele could be producing a remake of the 1992 horror “Candyman”, reports Bloody Disgusting. The film is what spawned those rumours that if you say ‘Candyman’ 5 times in the mirror he will be summoned – I was always too scared to get to number 5. The original film was directed by Bernard Rose, and starred Tony Todd as the Candyman. The film was followed by two sequels. Word is, the rights to the franchise are now up for grabs, hence the remake talks. Fingers crossed!

Goodbye, Bandit
