A contact at Fox Studios in Sydney today confirmed for me that "I Robot" will indeed be filming in Canada, not Australia.
He says, "(It’s) due to lack of availability at fox studios in sydney (and cast preference…. but my understanding is not because of Will Smith. he spent a lot of time in sydney when his wife was working on the matrix sequels)." But once the project hits "post-production" status, Alex Proyas will move it back to home and fine tune it in Sydney, much the same as Miller will do with "Mad Max".
