Emily Blunt is in early talks to star in DreamWorks’ adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ bestseller “The Girl on the Train”.
According to The Wrap, Blunt has been offered the part of lonely, alcoholic divorcée Rachel. Rachel fantasizes during her daily commute about the seemingly perfect couple who live in a house that her train passes every day, until one day she sees something shocking happen there one morning and becomes entangled in the mystery that unfolds.
Tate Taylor (“The Help”) is directing from Erin Cressida Wilson’s adapted screenplay.
Marc Platt will produce and Jared LeBoff will exec produce.
