Whether he did a good job with "Daredevil" or not is pretty arguable, but regardless Director Mark Steven Johnson has been picked up for his second comic to movie gig. Variety confirms that he’s just got the gig to direct "Ghost Rider", an adaptation of the Marvel comic which centers on a motorcyclist who inadvertently makes a pact with dark forces and must fight against them in order to protect the woman he loves. The film has been greenlit for a start in late 2003 or early 2004. Producing are Johnson’s partner in Horseshoe Bay Prods., Gary Foster, with Marvel principal Avi Arad and Crystal Sky’s Steven Paul. The studio views the action and special effects-heavy film a first in a potential franchise. No word on a star yet, but Nic Cage’s name has always been top of the list.
