Mercury Rising reunion as Willis, Baldwin join Brooklyn

Bruce Willis and Alec Baldwin, adversaries in the 1998 thriller “Mercury Rising”, will reunite for Edward Norton’s thriller “Motherless Brooklyn” at Warner Bros. Pictures.

The 1950’s set-project, which has also just attained fellow thesps Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Cherry Jones, is a murder mystery starring director Norton as a detective afflicted with Tourette’s Syndrome, as he ventures to solve the murder of his mentor and only friend (Willis).

Norton’s screenplay was inspired by Jonathan Lethem’s novel “Motherless Brooklyn,” which won the 1999 National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction.

Willem Dafoe, Ethan Suplee, Leslie Mann, Josh Pais, Fisher Stevens, Michael K. Williams, and Robert Wisdom are also in the cast.
