“In Stereo”, written and directed by Mel Rodriguez III (”Tunnel Vision”) and starring Micah Hauptman (David, ”The Lennon Report”, “Everest”) and Beau Garrett (Brenda, “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”, “Criminal Minds: suspect Behavior”), with Aimee Mullins (Trisha, ”Young Ones”) and Mario Cantone (John, “Sex In The City”) is a story focused on the present tense of a relationship between Brenda and David recently ended, when a chance meeting puts them back in each other’s lives at an inopportune time for both of them.
It questions the growth of a relationship, and focuses on how we can still be lonely even when we’re not alone and questions what are we willing to commit to in order to be complete.
I had the opportunity to have phone conversations with Garrett and Hauptman about the film. We discussed making a film focused where a relationship is more so than how it got there, building your own set of given circumstances, and the importance of being committed to a role.
