More Lemony Snicket Coming!

Lemony Snicket’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events” will again be adapted for the screen, this time for the small screen.

Netflix has acquired the rights to the best-selling books and will produce an original series in association with Paramount Television (FYI, Paramount was the studio that brought us the 2004 film adaptation of Snicket’s book series).

“A Series of Unfortunate Events” follows three orphaned kids as they seek to discover the secret of their parents’ death while they face a series of unfortunate events – go figure – at the hands of the evil Count Olaf.

We don’t yet know when the series will premiere.

“On the search for fantastic material that appeals to both parents and kids, the first stop for generations of readers is ‘A Series of Unfortunate Events,’” said Cindy Holland, VP of original content for Netflix. “The world created by Lemony Snicket is unique, darkly funny, and relatable. We can’t wait to bring it to life for Netflix members.”
