Mr & Mrs Smith writer tackling Han Solo film?

Last week the trades announced that Gary Whitta had exited his post as scribe of Gareth Edwards’ upcoming “Star Wars” spin-off – the one said to involve pirates, Han Solo, and that dude from ‘Breaking Bad’.

Now, according to /Film, there’s a replacement on the job. Simon Kinberg, the “X2” and “Mr & Mrs Smith” scribe, currently working on Disney XD’s “Star Wars : Rebels” series, has apparently taken over writing duties from Whitta.

In addition to “Rebels”, Kinberg is also a consultant on the forthcoming “Star Wars : The Force Awakens”, so no surprise he’s the guy Disney have chosen to rewrite Whitta.
