Schwarzenegger says Legend of Conan script is “great”

Much like the “Twins” sequel he’s committed to, Arnold Schwarzenegger says the script for his ‘Conan’ reprisal – “The Legend of Conan”, written by Chris Morgan – needs some “tweakage” but that, on the whole, he thinks it’s “great”.

Speaking to Fred Topel at Nerd Report, Schwarzenegger says the general plot of “Legend of Conan”, which involves the legendary warrior coming out of retirement, is what attracted him to the project.

“I was hoping to do another one and I was hoping that the idea of Conan having been king for a long time, then just threw it all away and went into retirement and went off into the mountains,” Schwarzenegger said after the press conference. “That whole idea always appealed to me. Then of course he gets asked back because of some hideous and unbelievable things that are happening to the kingdom. So that’s when the battle begins again.”

As for the script, “That turned out really great,” Schwarzenegger said. “It needs some tweakage but really they’ve done an extraordinary job with it, very thoughtful so I’m looking forward to working with them on that as soon as this gets out of the way, because I’m very focused on one thing at a time. Then we do the next thing.”

“The Legend of Conan” is one of several sequels Schwarzenegger has on the go; in addition to the recently-announced “Twins” sequel “Triplets”, he’s also looking to do a fifth and sixth “Terminator” movie, and has mentioned a possible follow-up to “The Running Man”.
