Supergirl and The Flash crossover in the works?

Though they’re on different networks – The CW and CBS, respectively – might The Flash and Supergirl crossover into each others TV worlds, anyway?

Bleeding Cool says it’s a strong possibility, with Greg Berlanti – the captain of both shows – reportedly looking to get Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl onto The CW’s “The Flash” or Grant Gustin’s Barry Allen onto CBS’s “Supergirl”… or both. And with the ratings over on the heavily-advertised “Supergirl” having taken a real dip post-Pilot, CBS may be letting Berlanti do whatever he wants to get the show’s numbers up – with a tentative plan to have such an episode hit the air next May, around sweeps week.

Of course, “Supergirl” needs to still be on the air in May to make that possible. At this stage, it’s hard to say whether CBS will order a back nine – while there’s obviously an audience out there for the super-series, the show is starting to struggle and does need a good kick. Said kick could definitely happen with a crossover with a hit CW show, so hopefully CBS keep “Supergirl” around long enough to see that happen.

More when we hear it..
