Channing Tatum is turning his hand to directing.
The “Foxcatcher” star will co-direct an adaptation of author Matthew Quick’s book ”Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock” for The Weinstein Company. Tatum’s producing prartner Reid Carolin will co-direct.
The “22 Jump Street” actor seems to be itching to direct a movie; he and Carolin were playing with the idea of helming a feature adaptation of Jo Nesbo’s crime thriller novel “The Son” a couple of months back. This new project seems to have taken precedence over the former.
THR has this on “Leonard Peacock” :
Leonard Peacock centers on a troubled high schooler who plans to kill his best friend and then himself.
The search is on for a writer. If everything aligns, the in-demand star would play a heroic teacher who intervenes.
Quick also wrote “Silver Linings Playbook”, adapted into a 2012 movie starring Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence.
