Rebecca Thomas is in early talks to direct Universal and Working Title’s live-action adaptation of “The Little Mermaid”.
Chloe Grace Moretz is starring in the film and, according to TheWrap, “hit it off” with Thomas.
Richard Curtis is writing the script for “The Little Mermaid” which previously has Sofie Coppola attached to helm (she exited the project in June due to creative differences).
Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner of Working Title will produce, and Liza Chasin and Amelia Granger will exec produce.
