Japanese singer-actor Win Morisaki has been cast in Steven Spielberg’s “Ready Player One”, joining Tye Sheridan, Olivia Cooke, Simon Pegg, Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller and Mark Rylance.
Spielberg is directing the film which is based on the sci-fi novel by Ernest Cline.
Set in a virtual world called Oasis, the film sees a teenager competing in a ruthless virtual competition after the game’s founder dies, leaving his fortune to the winner.
Morisaki will play a character called Daito.
Spielberg, Donald De Line, Kristie Macosko Krieger and Dan Farah are producing.
