AFM : Warm Bodies Poster Artwork

The next “Twilight”?! Guess that’s what Summit are hoping for. And if you need physical proof, you only need look at the “Warm Bodies” teaser poster, released today at AFM.

Personally, I think script is much tighter, and a lot more compelling – it’s also going to appeal to a much broader audience than “Twilight” – than Stephenie Meyer’s film, so marketing it as such is almost short-changing it.

Hearing nothing but good buzz about the flick, particularly the performances of Teresa Palmer, Nicholas Hoult and the always-dependable guy-you-don’t-bring-home-for-dinner John Malkovich. There’s also some good guys working effects on the film.

Whoever buys the flick can think it’s the next “Twilight”, but let’s not us, the public, throw “Warm Bodies” to the Cullen’s for lunch just yet.

So how does that rattle your chain? Interested? Think you and the Mrs will be gearing up to see it first night?

The Jonathan Levine directed film is based on a book by Isaac Marion, here’s a synopsis of the hardcover :

‘R’ is a zombie. He has no name, no memories, and no pulse, but he has dreams. He is a little different from his fellow Dead.

Amongst the ruins of an abandoned city, R meets a girl. Her name is Julie and she is the opposite of everything he knows – warm and bright and very much alive, she is a blast of colour in a dreary grey landscape. For reasons he can’t understand, R chooses to save Julie instead of eating her, and a tense yet strangely tender relationship begins.

This has never happened before. It breaks the rules and defies logic, but R is no longer content with life in the grave. He wants to breathe again, he wants to live, and Julie wants to help him. But their grim, rotting world won’t be changed without a fight…
