UK Gossip mag OK Magazine – so yep, take about as much notice of this as a coke-snorting homeless movie exec promising to turn your script into a film – says Angelina Jolie is being eyed to direct Marvel’s “Captain Marvel”.
So impressed by Jolie’s directorial turn on “Unbroken”, Marvel Studios are reportedly ready to offer the actress-cum-filmmaker $20million to direct their first female-led superhero movie.
“Having [a] female director is a priority for them. She never thought she’d be in such huge demand as a director, and to be courted by Marvel after the Sony fiasco is a huge pat on the back.”
Even if this is true, it doesn’t mean Jolie will accept the job – after all, she’s busy with her own projects, and she’s been offered high-profile projects before (like “Fifty Shades of Grey”) and nixed the opportunity. Maybe she’ll try and compromise herself into the title role?
