Ant-Man and the Wasp enters production

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” details have been largely under wraps, but Marvel Studios have confirmed that the follow up to 2015’s “Ant-Man” is underway, and have released an official synopsis. The movie sees Ant-Man aka Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) team up with The Wasp aka Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) to battle together.

In the aftermath of “Captain America:  Civil War,” Scott Lang (Rudd) grapples with the consequences of his choices as both a Super Hero and a father.  As he struggles to rebalance his home life with his responsibilities as Ant-Man, he’s confronted by Hope van Dyne (Lilly) and Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) with an urgent new mission. Scott must once again put on the suit and learn to fight alongside The Wasp as the team works together to uncover secrets from their past.

Recently announced cast members include Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne and the original Wasp – also Hope’s mother, Laurence Fishburn as Dr. Bill Foster (Goliath, the size-changing superhero) and Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch, a Cross Technologies executive and enemy of the Ant-Man. They join Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, the original Ant-Man and Hannah John-Kamen.

Marvel Studios announced the beginning of production with a teaser video, featuring 2 pint-sized director’s chairs – see below.

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” flies into cinemas July 6, 2018.
