Aquaman is set to face off with perhaps his most famous opponent in DC’s upcoming solo “Aquaman” film.
According to TheWrap, the film will feature Black Mantra as the chief antagonist opposite Jason Momoa’s titular hero.
Created by Bob Haney and Nick Cardy in 1967’s “Aquaman” #35, Black Mantra doesn’t have any innate superpowers, but wears a suit which allows him to swim across the depths of the ocean.
Will Beall is writing the “Aquaman” script based off a treament by Geoff Johns and James Wan. Wan is directing the film, which will release on July 27, 2018.
