Antoine Fuqua to helm Scarface remake?

Antoine Fuqua is in talks to direct Universal’s re-imagining of “Scarface”.

According to Deadline, the upcoming project will set the immigrant rags-to-riches story in contemporary Los Angeles.

Jonathan Herman wrote the most recent draft of the script from previous versions by Paul Attanasio and David Ayer.

Marc Shmuger, Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark are producing with Marty Bregman.

The new film will be the third iteration of the crime classic, following Universal’s 1932 film with star Paul Muni and the 1983 version with Al Pacino.
