Asa Butterfield among Spider-Man candidates

A shortlist of names have emerged in relation to the always highly-coveted ‘Spider-Man’ role that is again up for grabs.

According to The Wrap, several young actors have found themselves on the wishlist for the new, younger Peter Parker. They are Asa Butterfield (“Ender’s Game”), Nat Wolff (“The Fault in Our Stars”), Liam James (“The Way Way Back”), Timothee Chalamat (“Interstellar”), and Tom Holland (“The Impossible”). Wolff is the oldest of those actors at 20 years of age.

Obviously the studio want to nail down a new Spidey before June, when he’ll be required to film his cameo in “Captain America : Civil War”, before leading his own film in 2017.

Drew Goddard is directing the new Spidey solo film, which reportedly fixes on a highschool-aged Parker.
