Ashley Greene goes to Staten Island, Hendricks to Dark Places

“Twilight” alum Ashley Greene – who is having a busy few months – has joined the cast of “Staten Island Summer”, a new comedy from veteran “Saturday Night Live” producer Lorne Michaels.

SNL director-producer Rhys Thomas and SNL writer Colin Jost are behind the film, which “follows the summer after high school graduation that friends Danny and Frank spend as poolside lifeguards.
With the former off to Harvard and the latter unsure of what he wants to do next, the movie lays out the different directions the pals’ lives are about to take. Greene’s character in the Paramount movie is member of the pool club and the daughter of an overly protected mobster. It is also fair to say the actress plays the object of at least one of the boys’ desires”, says Deadline.

The film begins production next month.

Meanwhile, “Mad Men” star Christina Hendricks has joined the all-star cast of “Dark Places”, the movie adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s best seller that boasts such names as Charlize Theron and Chloe Moretz.

Corey Stoll and Andrea Roth are also onboard the directed picture.

Says Deadline :

Kendricks will play the older Krissi Cates character in the film from director Gilles Paquet-Brenner. Krissi has been haunted by a secret from her past that could have great implications for Theron’s Libby Day character and her jailed brother Ben (Stoll). In the book, Krissi is a barely-getting-by stripper who had accused Ben decades before of being a child molester and some other very serious misdeeds.

The buxom redhead actress next appears in Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut “How to Catch a Monster”.
