Now this is cooler than the leather side of a frozen bearskin rug, “District 9” duo Neil Blomkamp and Sharlto Copley, writer/director and star, respectively, of the 2009 hit are reuniting on another science-fictioner titled “Elysium”.
“Neil is taking meetings all over town. There is a lot of interest from every studio,” an insider tells Deadline.
The plot is being kept under wraps but is said to be set on another planet. Like “District 9″, the story encompasses ”sociopolitical ideas wrapped up inside a Hollywood action film.”
Sony are still keen on a “District 9” sequel, but sounds like they’ll have to remain both keen and patient while Blomkamp spreads his wings.
