Borg/McEnroe star playing Mikael Blomquist in Dragon Tattoo sequel

Norwegian actor Sverrir Gudnason (“Borg/McEnroe”) will take over for Daniel Craig in the “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo” sequel.

The news hails from Variety who confirm Gudnason’s anointment as magazine editor Mikael Blomquist. The role will likely see the actor bump uglies with new Lisbeth Salander, played by Claire Foy.

Sylvia Hooks and Claes Bang will co-star in “The Girl in the Spider’s Web” with Fede Alvarez at the helm.

The first film in the series, captained by David Fincher, had Craig and Rooney Mara sharing the streets as Salander and Blomquist.

The Sony Pictures prod gets underway in January in Berlin and Stockholm.
