Seems that image Ryan Reynolds shared a couple of weeks ago showing him, Hugh Jackman and Pierce Brosnan, having a chuckle – and possibly hinting a team-up – really was a solid hint at some future “Deadpool 2” casting.
On Popcorn Talk’s weekly vodcast Meet the Movie Press, Simon Thompson (from ‘Forbes’) mentioned that he caught up with David Leitch, director of “Deadpool 2”, at the premiere of “John Wick : Chapter 2” this week. Hoping to get Leitch to confirm Brosnan’s possible casting – as Cable – in the film, the journalist said “‘Congratulations on casting Pierce Brosnan, and he went, ‘We have not yet.'”
Reiterating the Brosnan casting, Jeff Sneider, who co-hosts Meet the Movie Press, said he’d “heard it’s going to him.”
Still, all of this doesn’t mean Brosnan is a lock yet to co-star opposite Reynolds in “Deadpool 2” but it does suggest talks are underway.
