Big names board Battlestar Galactica movie!

The long-gestating bigscreen reboot of “Battlestar Galactica” just got a frakkin’ big boost!

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Powerhouse producer Michael De Luca (“The Social Network”, “Fifty Shades of Grey”) is teaming with equally-solid film captain Scott Stuber (“Ted”) and Dylan Clark of Bluegrass Films to produce the Universal offering.

The studio is planning to relaunch the brand as a lucrative bigscreen franchise – a’la “Star Wars”. Of course.

A bigscreen “Galactica” venture has been on the cards for years, with Bryan Singer once attached to bring Adama and co to the silver screen. Singer hasn’t been involved with the project since 2014.

The property kicked off it’s long run as a short-lived ’80s TV show before being resurrected, two decades later, by SyFy as a mini-series and subsequent spin-off series.
