Buffy’s Spike joins Marvels Runaways

James Marsters, best known for playing ‘Spike’ on TV classics “Buffy” and “Angel”, has been cast as one of the main character’s fathers on “Marvel’s Runaways”, the highly anticipated project with popular streaming service, Hulu.

Marsters’s Victor Stein is an engineering genius who may just save the word from itself. Electric cars, space travel; the military and NASA both look to him for answers. As a father to Chase, Victor has lofty expectations for his son, and when they aren’t met, his retribution can be fierce.

Also newly onboard the show are Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Brittany Ishibashi, James Yaegashi, “Alias” alum Kevin Weisman, Brigid Brannagh, “24” actress Annie Wersching, “Rules of Attraction” actor Kip Pardue, and Ever Carradine.

“This cast is an abundance of riches. We are so excited to have assembled our Pride, though for the fate of humanity we should be very concerned… ,” said Executive Producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage. ”

“‘Marvel’s Runaways’ has enough great actors to support two shows, but I love that this project contains multiple generations of incredible talent all in one story,” added ”Runaways” comic co-creator and series executive consultant Brian K. Vaughn

“This cast has come together in ways we couldn’t have imagined and we are thrilled to work with this outstanding group,” said Executive Producer, Jeph Loeb.

Marvel previously announced Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin and Allegra Acosta were locked to play the title roles in the series.
